About Me
I created Building Income Investments after I sold my original personal finance blog that I had owned and operated for 8 amazing years. In that time I went from a broke recent law school graduate with a fiancé to a little bit more established attorney with an amazing family. When I received an offer I couldn’t turn down I sold that site, but I knew I was not done blogging about my adventure so I decided to create a site that was focused squarely on what I wanted to talk about – investments.
There are two main reasons I created this site:
- Accountability – I have found that I tend to work better in situations where I am being held publicly to the decisions I have made. Originally, when I was fighting to get out of debt 8 to 10 years ago, knowing I “had” to share my monthly net worth statements made me choose better decisions. Similarly, I am going to be extremely pissed at myself if I ever have to come to this blog and write that I failed to make my monthly investment.
- Interact with Like Minded People – Having run a website for the better part of a decade at this point, I can attest that some of the most useful conversations come from a semi-anonymous back and forth when the focus is on the topic at hand and not the 1,000 other things going on in the background.
A Little Bit More About Me
I am 34 years old, have been married for 8 years, have 2 awesome kids (5 and 2) and a dog that is the least manly dog one can own. We live on the north shore of Long Island. During the day I am an attorney within a financial planning field – this provides me an interesting insight into the financial planning world, whether that be high net worth estate planning, insurance product planning and investment planning. At night, I run this website (along with a host of other ones) and a small trust and estates firm. I am happy to share a lot about me if asked, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask!
